1927 STAR
4 Door Deluxe Sedan Model “R”

Owner: Lance Haynes
Star production for 1927 was 55,039 and 1928 was the last year for the Star ending in April. Durant Motors shut their Star line down as it was robbing to many sales of the main car Durant. Their top car the “Flint” was shut down in 1927 mainly from lack of sales. Also the Durant owned Locomobile was also shut down in 1927. The Star was way too much car for the money. We just finished a frame off 3 year total restoration spending $52,450.00. Now this car is better than new. All 12 volt with alternator and modern engine and Ford automatic and new custom wire wheels and new whitewall Firestone tires. All glass is new tempered safety and the car is fully insulated.

This model car sold for $1,045.00 and built in Oakland, CA. This model the 6-66 4 door deluxe was the most expensive Durant ever built with functional radiator shutters and duel cowl vents, 3 curtains in the back, two ash trays built in under rear windows, 4-speed transmission, 112” wheel base, 48 horsepower inline 6 cylinder L-Head continental engine, 4–wheel mechanical brakes, 600/19” split rim wood spoked wheels. These are the original hickory wood wheels on the car now. All 6-windows roll down and the windshield swings out for good ventilation. The cars did not come with heaters or radios back then. We did a 4-year frame off restoration on this car and spent over $50,000 on it. The value today is unknown as it is so rare. Very few of these models exist today.

1959 Ford Skyliner Retractable Convertible
Owner: Clarence Scheidle

Ford produced the Skyliner Retractable Convertible for three years - 1957, 1958, and 1959. It was the most expensive vehicle offered by Ford. The 1958 Skyliner sold for $3,163.00 while the standard convertible sold for $2,650.00 and the Standard Ford Sedan went for $2,055.00. Out of almost a million Fords built in 1958, only 14,713 Skyliner Retractables were produced. The 4,069-pound car is powered by a 300-horsepower 352 cubic inch, V-8 engine.

This car was restored by Lance Haynes. Unusual original color was used only in 1959 by both Thunderbirds and Lincolns. Both of these cars were built on the same assembly line. The 1958 Thunderbird and Lincoln was the first Ford product to use uni-body construction meaning there is no actual frame. The body is double thick and provides a very stable construction with very little flex. But with uni-body construction comes a penalty of extra weight and this car weighs approximately 4,500 pounds. They are also prone to rust and are difficult and expensive cars to restore correctly. This body style was used from 1958 through 1960 with very few changes other than trim and a change from coil to leaf springs at the rear axle in 1959. The Vintage Thunderbird Club International statistics indicate that there are about 6,700 of these cars still in existence.

1967 Ford LTD
2 Door Hardtop

Owner: Lance Haynes

67 stock Ford LTD 2 Door Hardtop with vinyl roof, whitewall tires, 289 V8, 200 horsepower engine with automatic transmission. The car also has power brakes and power steering and lap seat belts. The upholstery is original period rayon with an elaborate embroidering design on the back of each seating area. These cars were expensive so they were a very low production only 51,978 out of 1 million Ford cars. My dear Aunt and husband did not have any children and bought this car new in San Mateo, CA (San Francisco Bay Area) on December 1966 from their local Ford Dealer. The car still has not rolled over 100,000 miles and it is at only 99,266 miles. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt. The car rides on 4 coil springs giving it a very nice ride.

Wheel base 117”, Horsepower 285, Weight 3,196 lbs, Price New $2,959.00, Production 12,724, Engine V8 351 cubic inches The 1971 Torino was the fastest Ford production car for this year with the famous 351 stock stroked V-8. There were over a million Ford cars produced by Ford in 1971. Think of the rarity of this model Torino at only 12,724 made. We actually can’t find any other of this particular car running. Course it is over 35 year’s old now. This car is very meaningful to its owner, Doren James, a sweet middle school teacher as her dad left it to her in his Will. The car is 100% stock. Notice original factory safety sticker on rear side window. Hard to find a girl that is car “crazy”. She also owns the 1959 Pink T-Bird in our chauffeuring group tonight. She also is having Lance Haynes restore her a very rare 1930 Deluxe Durant Rumble Seat Coupe with six wire wheels. Your driver tonight is her newly married Mark Gendron. It is our privilege to drive you in this special meaningful car tonight.
